2017 Elk Grove Run 4 Hunger

Posted on August 28th, 2017 by Staff

This year, our Elk Grove based personal injury law firm, the O'Brien & Zehnder Law Firm, had the honor of supporting and participating in the thirteenth annual Elk Grove Run 4 Hunger (EGRun4Hunger).

All donated funds raised went directly to Elk Grove Food Bank Services, a charity that actively combats hunger while raising awareness of the growing need for local hunger relief.

Since we are both professionally and emotionally involved in providing the best legal aid to the injured, we cannot help but feel the need to also get involved in humanitarian causes. Read on to find out more about our righteous fight to support and help the local community.

Elk Grove Food Bank Services (EGFBS)- serving a great cause

As a recognized non-profit leader, the EGFBS is the only food bank that is serving our community by providing free food, clothing and social services. It originally began as a humble food closet at a local church in the early 1970s.

The dedication and determination of its founders led to the distribution of over 5,400,000 meals and approximately 9,800,000 pounds of food in our local community and surrounding areas. This year, with food insecurity on the rise, they expect to serve a record number of men, women and children.

Want to help? Here's how you can get involved

EGFBS offers a wide variety of options that allow our community to support their efforts. You can join events like the EGRun4Hunger, donate a vehicle, hold one’s own food drive and more.

The Elk Grove Food Bank spends 94% of all income on program support, taking only 6% for administration. You can also donate directly on their website: http://www.elkgrovefoodbank.org/donations/2017-05-04-17-14-28.

How did we at the O'Brien & Zehnder Law Firm do at this year’s EGRun4Hunger?

Besides the joy of being a sponsor, our firm decided to run in this year’s EGRun4Hunger! The great weather and family atmosphere added to the pleasure of the event. Our motivation to complete the run sprung from knowing it all went to a cause that we, at the O'Brien & Zehnder Law Firm, are passionate about.
